new single ‘cloud cartography - extended’

We have a new single out right now which is an expanded version of our second single ‘Cloud Cartography’

‘Cloud Cartography’ was the first song written by Adam for the band as a means to set the tone for the direction of their sonic explorations. It was inspired by visits to the Derryveagh Mountains of Donegal in Ireland, and fighting off the elements as sheets of rain beat down upon the mountainous landscape. The song is about trying to make sense of a constantly changing world and our efforts to document and understand it.

The new extended version, featuring Kirstin Isolde Lavender on second vocals, is built around layered guitars, cinematic arrangements and a whole lot of effects pedals, exploring thr atmospheric side of the band’s sound, combining shimmering shoegaze textures with melodic and subtle post-punk influences.

‘Cloud Cartograpy - Expanded’ was released on 22 May digitally through the major digital music platforms, released by Happy Robots and distributed by Cargo Records.

Debut EP ‘Cloud Studies’ out 19 June

After a run of singles our debut EP ‘Cloud Studies’ will be out this June.

The EP has been a long time in the making. Natalie recorded the drum parts in December 2024, and we have spent a long time tinkering with it to explore and perfect our sound. Our shifting line-up also required a fair bit of re-recording. We think it’s been worth the wait.

On the EP you’ll find ‘Cloud Cartography’ - extended, with the additional vocals of Kirstin plus the new expanded coda with layered guitars from Michael. Next is our second, and still most upbeat song ‘Dreams About’ which features Adrian on lead guitar. The melancholic and shimmering ‘Avenue’ follows on side two and the EP closes with live favourite ‘Hiding Place,’ probably our most gothic song to date, a song that tackles the subject of stalking.

Our first review came from Plastic Magazine, who described the release as a ‘sensational debut EP’

We’re excited to be releasing the EP through two labels. Happy Robots will once again be doing the digital release, with distribution by Cargo Records (and this release will make it Bandcamp). Plus we’re also doing a physical cassette version with psych / kraut / dreampop label The Weird Beard. The cassettes will be limited to just 50 so sign up to our mailing list to hear about them first, as we think they will go pretty quickly.
